Writing in blood

Writing in blood

A gruesome activity, but quite a good way to decorate dens, and practice writing too. Ok it is not really blood, but red ink. But you do get to make your own quill. Arrr.

You will need:

  • Brown or old looking paper
  • A nice feather
  • A sharp knife
  • Red writing ink bottle

Find a pretty feather and get a grown up to cut it into a quill with a sharp knife.

See, just red ink!

Open your red ink and have plenty of tissue on hand to blot the mess with. Dip your quill into the ink and start writing your blood-thirsty letter.

Additional ideas; hold to ransom your brother’s teddy, draw a treasure map, make a list of demands for a yummy breakfast and smuggle it into your parent’s bedroom. Write a list of rules for your tree house, or draw a keep out sign for your den.
